What is hrunting beowulf?

Hrunting is a legendary sword given to Beowulf by Unferth, a Danish warrior, before his final battle against the dragon. The sword is said to have been passed down from generation to generation and possessed magical powers. However, it did not prove to be effective against the dragon, as its skin was too tough.
